About
Pr. Brice Ulrich Saha Foudjo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, at the University of Bamenda, Cameroon, and a Visiting Lecturer in Public Health Nutrition at the Catholic University of Central Africa. Holding a Ph.D. in Food Sciences and Nutrition, Pr. Saha combines over 15 years of academic rigor, international research mobility, and extensive field program management across Africa. His research and professional work bridge biochemistry, public health nutrition, and food technology—focusing on child stunting, micronutrient interventions, maternal nutrition, and the transgenerational prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). He has served as a technical lead and consultant for leading international bodies, including UNICEF, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Helen Keller International (HKI), and the World Diabetes Foundation. A dedicated contributor to the scientific community, he has authored over 38 peer-reviewed articles, regularly serves as an expert peer reviewer for premier international medical journals such as BMJ Global Health and The Lancet Global Health, and has shaped policy through national dietary guidelines and over 80 compulsory food quality standards. Pr. Saha brings a profound, long-standing commitment to nurturing the next generation of African scientists. An alumnus and Master Trainer of the African Nutrition Leadership Programme (ANLP) and former Junior Faculty member, he has facilitated leadership, communication, and advocacy development for dozens of emerging nutrition professionals. Across his university tenures, he has actively supervised and mentored undergraduate, Master’s, and Ph.D. candidates through research methodology, biostatistical analysis, grant acquisition, and the academic publishing process. Recognized internationally with honors such as the Nestlé Nutrition Institute Africa Emerging Scientist Award and finalist recognition from the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Pr. Saha is eager to leverage his multidisciplinary expertise and pan-African leadership background to empower young scientists to build impactful, ethical, and globally competitive research careers.
